Lynette Sue Nelson
Brookings, SD
Lynette S. Nelson was born on January 23, 1959, in Sioux Falls, SD, and was adopted into the Roger and Delaine Nelson family in September of 1960. She died on Sunday, January 13, 2008, at the Brookings Hospital at the age of 48.
Lynette was baptized into the family of God at the Leganger Lutheran Church on October 16, 1960, and also confirmed in the church. She was a graduate of the Deubrook School in 1977. She continued her education at the Golden Valley Lutheran College in 1979. She was employed for 26 years in the school system. She loved all her contacts with the students and teachers.
She was a member of Morningside Community Church, where she participated in the Womens Bible Study Group and Sunday School. She was an active participant in the Power and Light Singing Group and was an avid sports fan. She especially enjoyed the Vikings and Twins games. She also enjoyed watching the Deubrook Dolphins and was awarded Fan Of The Year in 1984-1985. Her garden was her pride and joy and she willingly shared the fruit with family and friends. God was her faithful and loyal friend.
Grateful for having shard her life are her mother Delaine Nelson of Toronto; her brothers Bob (Diane) Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD, Marlo (Linda) Nelson of Brookings, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
Lynette was preceded in death by her father Roger who died on May 26, 2006.
