Funeral services for Lillian Frances Zink will be 10:00AM, Monday, May 24, 2010, at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Brookings, SD. Visitation will be from 2PM until 4PM Sunday at Rudes Funeral Home in Brookings, and from 6PM until 8PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish with a 7:00 PM Scripture Service at the church. Lillian Frances Zink was born on November 22, 1915, in Bruce, South Dakota, the daughter of Anthony and Anna Marie (Rudebusch) Leiferman. She died on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Brookview Manor in Brookings at the age of 94.
Lillian received her education in Cozy Cottage grade school in rural Estelline, SD and was a graduate of the Estelline High School in 1933. She moved with her family to rural Aurora in 1935. Lillian was united in marriage to William J. Zink on April 16, 1941 in Aurora. After their marriage they farmed in Parnell Township near Elkton, SD until moving into Brookings in 1978. She was then employed at the Brookings Hospital from 1979 until 1996 in the laundry department. William died on March 8, 1985 in Brookings. Lillian entered Stoneybrook Suites in August of 2004 and Brookview Manor in February of 2010.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends, and especially spending time with her family.
Lillian is survived by two sons William A. (Bonnie) Zink of Brookings, SD, Charles F. (Nancy) Zink of Elkton, SD; six grandchildren Scott (Gina) Zink and their children Hunter, Carter, Hope, and Paige of Brookings, SD, Chad (Britt) Zink and their daughter Aubrey of Sioux Falls, SD, Ryan (Erika) Zink and their children Raeanna, Kaden and Ellie of Watertown, SD, Tamara (Todd) Even and their children Taylor, Trey and Lexi of Hartford, SD, Pamela (Rick) Kuehl and their children Shaylee, Janaya and Jadyn of Brookings, SD, Melanie (Cory) Lunn and their children Jazmyn and Tyson of Brookings, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers Raymond, Lloyd and Ervin.
