Mary Kathryn Galbraith
Brookings, South Dakota
Mary K. (Connelly) Galbraith was born May 3, 1921 in Brookings, South Dakota, the daughter of James and Kathryn (Fogerty) Connelly. She passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at the Brookings Hospital at the age of 82 years. She was a resident of the United Retirement Center since March of 2001.
Mary graduated from Brookings High School in 1940 and went on to be the administrator of the Watson Clinic for over 25 years. She was united in marriage to Clifford Galbraith on May 20, 1969.
Mary was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, The Womens Business Professional Club and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish.
Devotion to her God and to her church were most important to Mary, as were the many, many friendships with the people she loved and cherished. She will be remembered as a very special and caring person.
Mary is survived by her sister-in-law, Maxine Connelly of Brookings; one nephew, James Connelly of Toronto, SD; one niece, Robyn Kortan (Jim) of Omaha, NE; and a great nephew, JJ Kortan of the University of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Morrell (Buck) Connelly.
Funeral Mass: 9:00 A.M, Tuesday, July 29, 2003 St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, Brookings, SD Fr. Michael Wensing, Officiating
Visitation: 4PM to 7PM Monday at Rudes Funeral Home in Brookings.
Scripture Service:7:00 P.M., Monday at Rudes Funeral Home
Interment: St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Elkton, SD
