Life Legacy
Randy L. Klavetter age 49 of Volga, SD died June 17th 2009 at the Brookings Hospital. Randy had put up a long valiant battle with a brain tumor since 2001 and then recently with other medical conditions also. Funeral services are Monday, June 22nd at 10:30 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Brookings. Visitations will be on Sunday, June 21st from 2:00 5:00 pm at Rudes Funeral Home.
Randy Klavetter was born on September 24, 1959 in Watertown SD to LeRoy and Arlene (Gaede) Klavetter. Randy graduated from Brookings High School in 1978 and attended the Lake Area Vo-tech School in Watertown SD. He served in the SD National Guard for six years. He spent a few years working with Behrend Bros Construction and with Jensens Masonry. He then worked at Als Plumbing & Heating in Volga before purchasing the business which later turned into Klavetters Plumbing & Heating with his brother, Mike at his side. In December of 2003 Randys tumor caused him to retire.
He married Tammy Stolp on August 15th 1987. They lived in Brookings SD and then in Volga. Randy enjoyed watching the Mn Vikings, the MN Twins and wrestling. In his younger years he really enjoyed riding his Harley Davison motorcycles. He thoroughly enjoyed camping every year with his family. Another enjoyable pastime of his was playing pinochle and other card games.
Randy is survived by his daughters, Cassey Rohlik of Brookings, Chaisty (Alex) Bujak of Ramona, and Tayler Klavetter of Sioux Falls; his wife, Tammy of Sioux Falls; his parents LeRoy and Arlene of Brookings; his siblings, Mike (Sylvia) Klavetter of Brookings, Jeff (Faith) Klavetter of Flandreau, and Lisa (Troy Behlings) Christenson of Volga; four grandchildren, Jeramy, Cassandra, and Jacob of Brookings, and Kaitlyn of Ramona, and a niece, Kylie Christenson of Volga. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emil and Susan Klavetter and George and Ethel Gaede.
